What Is Freight Auditing?
It compares the amount presented in a freight document with the contracted rate table. It helps distinguish a matching charge from a discrepancy that needs review before a payment decision.
Compare freight charges with contracted rates and track discrepancies.
Bring freight documents and rate tables together to compare expected and presented amounts using configured tolerances. A discrepancy requires review; it does not, by itself, mean realized savings or payment blocking. Availability depends on configuration and your agreement.

The applicable rate table, shipper and carrier identification, freight documents and inputs required by the contracted calculation, such as weight, volume, cargo value, origin and destination. Comparison tolerances must also be defined. Without an applicable table or sufficient information, the result must not be treated as an approved charge.
1. Configure the applicable rate table and contracted tolerances. 2. Compare the document against those terms and review the calculation components. 3. Investigate discrepancies and record their resolution before reconciliation and a payment decision. An identified difference is not, by itself, a recovered amount.
Compare the expected amount, presented amount, difference and available calculation components. A discrepancy may require checking rates, inputs or the charge. Record the resolution before reconciliation and payment; auditing does not replace that decision.
Auditing checks a charge against freight terms. Reconciliation connects documents, amounts and financial records. A reviewed charge does not prove settlement, just as a delivery receipt does not confirm payment.

Fictional amounts. This demo does not represent realized savings or an authorized payment.
Your agreement is the reference. Your team keeps control of the decision.
